Facing Cancer Together
Facing Cancer Together was a multi-year, multimedia community education initiative with the goal of connecting the stories and lives of people touched by cancer. The series was designed to inspire and guide honest conversations about the many aspects of cancer, including treatment options, cancer research, survivor and caregiver concerns, and healthy lifestyle choices for cancer prevention.
My work as Interactive Producer for Facing Cancer Together, an initiative of witf Public Media (NPR & PBS affiliates in Harrisburg, PA), received the following recognition:
- 2012 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award; Best Community Service Programming
- 2012 Pennsylvania Broadcaster’s Association Award; Excellence in Broadcast Journalism
- 2012 American Cancer Society Division Citation Award
Transforming Health
Transforming Health is an in-depth multimedia series designed to engage the community in a conversation about health care, its quality and its costs, and ways to maintain health in the first place, through individual and collective action.
My work as Interactive Producer for Transforming Health, an initiative of witf Public Media (NPR & PBS affiliates in Harrisburg, PA), received the following recognition:
- 2014 Regional Edward R. Murrow Award; Best Website (PA, NY, NJ Small Market category)
- 2014 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award Nomination; Best Community Service Programming
- The Summer Reid community collaboration was a finalist at the Central Penn Business Journal Nonprofit Innovation in Collaboration Awards in 2o13
Minnesota Remembers Vietnam
Minnesota Remembers Vietnam is a year-long, statewide multimedia initiative designed to inspire Minnesotans to remember, honor and understand the Vietnam War and its lasting impact.
- 2017 Upper Midwest Emmy Nomination: Best Promotional Campaign, Vietnam Story Wall
- 2018 Upper Midwest Emmy: Best Community Service
- 2020 National Educational Television Association Award: Overall Excellence Community Service
